Cargan Investment to Boost Buying, Hires Matthew Danis to Help
1999-09-13 11:17 (New York)
Chicago, Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Cargan Investment Management LLC, a commercial mortgage securities investment firm, said it hired Matthew Danis to help manage its growing portfolio of securities.
Chicago-based Cargan was founded last January by Frederick Fellows, 34, former director and senior commercial mortgage trader at Nomura Securities International Inc. About a month ago it had about $100 million invested in ``BBB''- and ``BB''-rated commercial mortgage securities.
Fellows said the hiring was spurred by the growth of the company and a potential surge in buying this year.
``We have a lot of money to put to work in the fourth quarter,'' he said.
Danis, 24, was previously senior analyst at Trivest Inc.
Besides reporting to Fellows, he will also report to Patricia Unti, who was hired in July to manage the firm's portfolio.
